Based on a decade of experience as a DIO, Dr. Nussbaum will share practical tips and take questions about how DIOs can advance transformation in graduate medical education.
Abraham Nussbaum, MD, is a physician and writer in Denver, Colorado. He is a professor of psychiatry and assistant dean of graduate medical education at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where he directs the Mind and Behavior course for all first-year medical students. He works clinically at Denver Health, an academic safety-net system, on its adult inpatient psychiatry units, where he cares for adults experiencing mental health crises. Administratively, he is Denver Health’s Chief Education Officer, providing strategic vision, daily direction, and administrative oversight for Denver Health's clinical education programs, which educate over 2,000 students and 1,000 resident physicians annually.
